Rx7 TII Maintenance Questions

So i just picked up a real virgin Rx7 TII with super low miles it is an 87 with only 43,000 miles on it car is filthy but should clean up real nice. My questions to you guys is what should i do to keep it running well This is my first rotary car so I am a little scared.

The guy who had it before me only used redline oil which I believe is good.?. The motor idles great has no hesitation and does not smoke hot or cold. The tranny on the other hand feels like stiff rubber and does not want to engage or operate smoothly. Any recommendations on fluids or is this just common with these trannys. On a side it does not grind , which is good. It has an lsd but it feels like it is tired what fluid you guys recommend to put in there and i heard something about a beer can trick? whats that?

Next I guess would be spark plugs and electrical. WHat do you guys recommend for wires and spark plugs i just want something new as i have a feeling these have never ben replaced.

The other question is the cooling system. What should i do here it all seems to be fine the needle barely hits the middle unless i really get on it. Should i flush the system just cause ??

And last but not least do you guys recommend i pressure wash the engine bay it is quite dirty and i would like to get some degreaser in there and make it look pretty.
But iam afraid because its a rotary

Honestly i really like the car and want to make a nice daily with light mods or i just might sell it. not quite sure yet But firs and foremost i want to make it run great

Thnx in advance for any help.

And last but not least.

Redline is fine. Before assuming a problem with the transmission, check to make sure the clutch hydraulics are working correctly. Flush and bleed the system.

At 43K, the LSD should not be worn out. If there is synthetic oil in there, it may need an LSD additive.

Stock. Either from Mazda or the parts store.

The needle should be about 1/4 on the gauge under normal operation, so yours sounds fine. But it should be flushed and refilled just as a matter of being thorough.

NO! NEVER PRESSURE WASH ANY ENGINE BAY! High pressure water gets forced into areas it should not be.

Use a degreaser like Castrol Super Clean. Spray it on full strength, let it sit a few minutes, then rinse with a gentle spray from a garden hose. Then cut Super Clean 50/50 with water and manually scrub away the hard stuff, then rinse again.

For coolant, just use standard green antifreeze.

For the transmission and diff, use some 75W-90 or 80W-90 synthetic. The rear end will require LSD additive if the gear lube you buy does not already include it.

That link was very insightful and awnsered most of my questions as well. I had question about how to shut my turbo2 off when the engine is not at operating temperature.
Does anyone know how to prevent flooding from a cold shutdown?

A car in good tune should not flood on cold shutdown.

However if you find that it does, just rev up to 2K, shut the key off, and then hold the pedal to the floor while the engine spins down. That will flush it out fairly well.
