which wastegate is good for me?

hey guys. im still putting together a turbo kit and just recently bought a t4 manifold that uses a 38mm TiAL wastegate flange.

im shooting for 12-14 lbs of boost which i was told should net me 350-400 rwhp from a Borg Warner s362.

with that said; what size TiAL wastegate should i use? if i can get away with using a 38mm safely, i wont have to modify the mani. if you guys think i should be going bigger than what size would be ideal and besides tial can anyone suggest another good reliable brand?

38MM is the smallest you should use.

If the flange is a typical square flange, you may be able to just grind out to match a large wastegate. If it's v-band, the only thing you can do is cut it off and weld on a new one.

38MM is the minimum, and it may or may not be enough depending on the design of the manifold and downpipe.

thanks aaron. the down pipe is from a racing beat exhaust system. im sure my mechanic will be modifying it to fit the kit im putting together. as for if its a v-band, im not sure. in the other thread i wanted to know if changing the wastegate size to the recommend 44mm would increase the flow. here i want to know if i just stayed with a 38mm wastegate, would it be adequate enough for the power and boost im looking to make..

my guess is, if your saying 38mm is the minimum than i should just go with a bigger wastegate. hopefully the flange wont hold it back too much =O
