So, since ive gotten my FC, its flooded about 3 times. Each time i do the normal flood fix, pull the egi fuse ect. after it gets started each time, the RPM gauge won't work (and it will beep at me) until i turn the car off and start it again. i dont think its too big of a deal, but I want to make sure it is nothing big. and I want to possibly get it fixed cuz its just a little annoying. any ideas?
If the tachometer isn't working check the connection at the ignition coil. There should be a wire that leads to the tachometer. I believe its at the ignition coil closest to the driver in the engine bay, but check the one next to the battery too....
The beeping could be anything from low coolant to low oil or a bad sensor for one of those two. Also could be power steering or airbag beeping codes. Be more specific (i.e. length, number of beeps, constant, rhythm).
Year of your car also helps... there are two different series S4 and S5...

jjcobm, its an 87, so an s4. but i took a look at the connections at the ignition coils and they were fine. But this got me looking at all my electrical, and whoever did the electrical on this thing left me with one heck of a project.
it only beeps once, pauses, repeats. I read the FAQs, but like i said, it only happens that first start up after flooding, and goes away if i turn off the car and start again.
satch. appreciate the link, actually read that after i made this post.
Will_s. pull which other fuse? im pulling the EGI inj. fuse (labeled 40A under the hood)
