I am in the process of rebuilding and have a few questions. First I need to know if these rotor bearings are bad and in need of replacing. Second I need to know if these rotor housing sides are clean enough or if it needs additional cleaning

 

The pictures don't have enough detail/close enough for me to make a call. Off-hand though...from what I can see that bearing should be replaced. The wear area/copper looks pretty localized and deep.

Should I be concerned about the e shaft because of the bearings?

 

Look at it, but it's probably fine. Copper is MUCH softer than the surface of that e-shaft. Just check the bearing surfaces and make sure they're smooth. If you have a set of calipers though, I think the FSM gives spec tolerances..which also help you order the right size replacement bearing.

Alright, thank you. I appreciate it. The engine only had 80,000 on it so the e shaft should be ok. It went bad because of a blown coolant seal.
