CA Revs act weird when lights are on

Hey, i have an 86 n/a fc base model.
So my questions comes because at night with all my lights on and high beams and when i rev it all the way to the 7k rpm at around 6k or 5.5k rpms the revs act weird and seems like it doesnt wanna accelerate then it keeps accelerating. So then i tried it again this time with just my pop ups off, all the other lights on, and the engine revs evenly like it suppose to. So im pretty sure that its an electrical issue but where should i start.
By the way the car would do this since ive got it, before it had the stock s4 alternator but recently i swapped in the taurus alternator, and it still does it. I thought that would fix the problem since its running tons more amps.
So I need just need help and somebody to point me in the right direction. Trailing coils? Charging System? Alternator? Battery? Plugs?

Thanks in advance..

I would start at the coils/spark plugs.

if it was doing it before you changed the alternator, then i'd suggest it's a harness and/or grounding issue?

make sure u check the main ground on the drivers side strut towe make sure that bad boy is cleaned off and making good contact witht the body, when i first got my na gxl that bolt was soo corroded that i replaced it scrapped off the corrision and i felt like the bulbs in my car and my idle and secondary injectors seemed to work a whole lot better

Check alternator while running by voltage on bat If under 14v could be reg or dying alternator. check battery first though

ok, so finally had a chance to do some checks on the grounds and other systems, so far the plugs and cables look good still, replaced them about five months ago, with ngk plugs and 10mm cables. Alternator tested and works good, 14.4 volts when above 1.1k and 12.4 volts when car turned off. Look at what grounds i could, without removing to much stuff and sanded the grounds down to just metal, remove as much paint as i could. Do you guys think it might be the trailing coil or possibly a ground that im not finding?? Cuz the car revs fine during the day, it only acts weird when the lights are on.....

Read the writeup about grounds provided by Aaron Cake. It's comprehensive and shows the relevant grounds and how to revitalize them.

Have you measured your earth resistance from engine to battery terminal and from body to battery terminal?
It's got to be an earth issue as it only happens when a substantial load is being put on the electrical system.....high resistance joins will measure out ok with no current draw but soon as you draw through them the volts will drop
