If you haven't already done it, download a copy of the FSM through the links in the FAQ or here: http://www.rotaryheads.com/PDF/2nd_gen/index.html

Take a look at the Fuel and Emissions section and read up on testing the fuel injectors. Your problem sounds like the secondaries may not be firing. Are you able to rev the engine past 3500 RPM with the transmission out of gear, or does it only do it under load? The secondary injectors transition on at about 3800 RPM, but only do so under load conditions.

easy fix.. Replace OMP! and get a Different ECU..... taking the ECU resets that whole LIMP MODE!! is what its called

and the OMP makes sure the oil is being fed to the engine..

i speak from Experience.. 2 Rx7 FC"S with bad OMPS... they both didnt go passed 3500 rpm//

check engine light would come on..etc....

Swapped OMP...and ECU..fixed..

NO problem

Good luck

=)

^ An '86 RX-7 doesn't have limp mode, or a check engine light for that matter.
