Quick question on leading coil wiring
Hey, the car is an 86 non-turbo. I'm having some issues that may or may not be a misfire so I was just looking around and checking things and I noticed that there is 3 wires coming out of the leading coil, two go into a 2-connector plug, and the third one has it's own small black connector but it is not hooked up to anything. Where is that wire supposed to go? Ground?

it's like an auxiliary for tach signal.
the tach gets it's signal from the trailing essentially.
sometimes you can hook a jumper to that leading signal if the trailing signal to the tach gets lost.
But really, for now,do not look at it as necessary to hook up.(leave it be)

Ok cool. I looked in the wiring diagrams in the FSM and only saw 2 wires going to the leading coil so I was pretty puzzled. That clears it up though, thanks!
