purchasing a new RX-7, wanted to get advice
I will be looking at an rx-7 tomorrow. It seems far too good to be true, and was hoping for advice as to what to look for.
1986 rx-7 sport edition. n/a engine, and according to the ad "1986 Mazda RX-7 Sport (15"x6" 5 lug wheels, 4 piston calipers, Vented rear rotors) Blue ext./Gray int. 112k miles. Lightened steel flywheel, Bonez pre-silencer, high flow cat, Racing Beat cat-back exhaust, SS clutch & brake lines, New clutch, New water pump. Original paint, some oxidation on hood and roof."
however, $1300 is the asking price - after being reduced from $1500. i have checked a lot of the FAQs on the rx7club site, and everything seems to check out. is there something specific i need to watch out for, because this seems waaay too cheap for him to not sell on the spot? the seller did mention he had a bunch of kids looking at it, but he turned them all down because they didn't know what they were getting into.

Well the car looks like a normal FC, I would check to see about the clutch and flywheel.
Make sure that the car is COLD when you get there and start it, this will help you tell how well the motor is. The Cold metal seals will allow more leak-by and you can tell how well the internals are. The harder it is to start to more ware the motor has.
Drive the car, make sure it shifts good and the shifter is firm.
Just take your time and look over everything, 1300 is a good price for a mechanically sound FC.
