Problem with 6-port actuators

When I put in my inserts the actuators were stuck open. It seems that the heat from the RB header seized them. I left them open since I noticed no problems with the engine running like that.

What's the best way to unseize them? I figured trying to use high-penetrant oil and try to push on them but they haven't moved, and I don't want to damage them by hitting them.

any ideas?

Remove the lower intake and use a good penetrating oil (PB Blaster).

Take the actuators off of the intake manifold and soak the mechanism in wd40/pb blaster. If they still stick, buy yourself some new ones off of ebay or the classified section here.

Are the actuators stuck, or the sleeves that are inside the housings, behind the intake manifold? Pull of the actuators. Can you rotate the rod in the intake manifold? If so, then get new actuators. If you can't rotate them, then you will need to remove the intake manifold and spray them with penetrating oil and clean them with carb cleaner as Aaron Cake said.

^ +1 to what he said.

I removed mine to clean them too since they were totally seized up. I took off the lower intake manifold and blasted them with a good penetrating oil. I then took a pair of pliers and grabbed on to the pin that goes through them. Using firm but not jerky movements I twisted it left and right until I got some wiggle out of it. I continued that movement but added pulling back to the mix. Eventually they came out. Took a good bit of grunting and straining, but they came.

When I get all my pictures together I'll make my own build post to get lost in the forum since I have a good picture of before and after pic of them dirty vs. clean.

Sounds good. I was planning to do that, since I wasn't getting enough leverage with everything in the way.
Will the PB Blaster damage the diaphram?

No, it won't hurt it. It's just a light oil. Taking the actuators off will make it a hell of a lot easier, and it'll give you a chance to try rotating the sleeves in place. If you're lucky it'll just be the actuators that are stuck, and you won't have to disassemble the whole intake manifold to clean everything out.

PB Blaster is not a penetrating oil...It's some kind of deep penetrant but should not be considered an oil.

I wouldn't recommend shooting it into the actuators themselves, only into the ports. For the actuators, use WD40. PB may dissolve the diaphragm. It's really bad on some rubbers.
