AB Power Steering removal

I have a 89 Turbo and looking to free up some space in my engine bay im looking to remove the power steering assembly all together. i live in a small town so there isnt much for traffic or tons of lights ive also made the car quite abit light over this last 4 year project so really im just wondering how the car drives from people with experience since it seems fairly popular to remove it

So ultimately, what would the plan be?..to depower the rack or put a manual rack in?

all depends on what you intend to do with your car

personnaly, I have depower my rack on my 91 T II and I regrete a bit (because that is my daily drive now)

but for a track car is the best !

for the place in the engine bay, it's the best to !!

I drove without it for years.
It only matters while parking.
If you're trying to parallel park while eating tacos it's gonna suck, otherwise itll be fine

AL depower'ed

I actually depowered a couple months ago and 90 vert it a different car !? Imediatly needed tire balancing and alignment . while mooving not much effort needed but in small parking lots quite a little work out especiallt with a 12" steering wheel , but now with the 14" wheel effort to turn is drastically , amazingly reduced . You will definitally feel evey bump , rock , uneveness in the road .

What do you guys think about the gtus Manual rack? Is it pretty easy to steer with or is it hard like a ps rack with out the ps?

The wider the front tire is the harder it will be to maneuver at low speeds if you depower the rack good way to gain some muscle though you will eat through your steering wheel a lot easier
