Oil Metering Pump (OMP)

I've been having alot of trouble with my Rx-7 91' 13B non-turbo. My problem is that everytime my check light engine comes on, my engine goes into limp-mode (what so I believe) where the engine cannot rise up any more power and just drives slowly.
My car has about 260,000km.
I was told it could be the OMP motor. I tried looking in junkyards, kijiji, ebay and other areas. It's so hard to get my hands on one.

Does anybody know the main reason my for car or where else could I get a OMP?

Yes, a failed MOP/OMP causes limp mode. Pull codes to be sure: http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html

Often time part of the ECU will be damaged by these failures, which means replacing the ECU too. When you have more posts, you can try the classifieds for used parts. A new MOP will be very expensive.

a brand new one will be. i got one if u need one that im not using for an s5. one of my friends had this happen, turned out the type of oil that was in it was causing it to do so. he changed the oil back to what it was supposed to run and it never went into limp mode again.

Thanks guys. I went to a personal shop and had it coded it turned out to be the OMP. I just ordered a OMP online I found a used one but not sure how its going to turn out but it was really a cheap deal.

I fill about 4L of 5W30 Regular oil. I don't know the recommedations besides regular oil. Is this the correct way?
