No wipers!

My wipers don't work! On my 85. All I know so far is there's no power going to the motor and the fuse is good, where should I check next? I got the wiring diagram but those things confuse the hell out of me, I did notice it's on the same circuit as the rear defrost and that does work

totally forgot to mention that the previous owner had the ignition switch go out so he cut the wires and replaced it with a toggle switch and starter button. as best i could tell he only wired the fuel pump and ignition to the switch so nothing that would turn on in the acc. position works. so far ive got the rear window defrost and heater controls to work but i still haven't been able to get the wipers or the gauges to work. i live in washington so i really need wipers!!! as far as the gauges, the speedo works so thats fine for now. i can figure that one out later. but if anyone could help me with either getting the wipers hooked up to the toggle switch or help me pretty much hot wire them to a seperate switch that would be awesome. i dont mind only having high speed which i know would be the case if i directly hot wired the motor. i just need wipers asap!!!

My wipers dont work either, sucks when your on the interstate and it starts raining. i believe my problem is just a bad motor. Did you try hot wiring the motor just to make sure it works.

I don't think it's the motor but I'm not sure, that's kinda what I'm asking, I'm not sure which wire to give power to test the motor. There's 2 connectors at the motor, I'm assuming the second one with just a black wire it's the ground but I don't know which of the 4 blue ones turns it on or what the other three are for

Might wanna check the relay in the switch. I was told it is a pretty common problem in rx7s. Had to do it in mine too. Except only had the "I" notch that worked, after tracking down the problem to the relay I just pulled it out and replaced it with a entirely new switch that was refurbished by Jeff at Maztech here in Tampa. Hope this helps! And good luck getting your hands on the part. I don't know if Jeff ships the switch off the top of my head or maybe there is someone local has refurbished ones for y'all. Cost me about $100 wing *****

where is the relay? i dont think thats the problem but ill check anything... still would like to know which wire(s) to jumper to hot wire the motor. im getting tired of chasing electrical demons... i just want to throw it on a toggle switch and call it good.

It's in the switch itself. I just replaced the whole switch and it fixed my problem. When I say switch I mean the *** that you turn to turn on the whispers and increase or decrease wiper speed. Check and see if you get voltage to the motor as well, Should be 12.6 volts. And I believe it's the blue and yellow wire for the wipers. Check under your dash its on the left hand side tucked away on the side, right behind the dead pedal.

Kind of put this issue in the back burner since i just hooked the wipers up on a toggle switch, but i want the stock switch to work. The issue now is as soon as u turn the key on it pops the fuse, is there a common place that the circuit would short? I hate finding opens/shorts... And in sick of only having super fast speed that doesn't automatically return the wipers to the bottom when i turn them off
