MI No spark mystery

I have a 1984 RX7 Limited with a 1989 13B installed. The engine has Dellorto Carb, Racing Reat header and exhaust. I use the stock ignition system. except there is no spark. Engine is rebuilt. Ignition wires, spark plugs, rotor and distriutor cap all are new. The air gap in the distributor is correct. The igniters test as good based on the test procedure in the Haynes manual. The coils are new. Still There is NO SPARK. I installed the distributor from my 1981 in the 1984. The 84 started and ran about 15-20 seconds. Then it quit. No spark. I put distributor back in the 81. Now the 81 has no spark. Oh yes the distributor rotor is spinning with the engine. That's not the problem. Does anyone have any suggestion what i could check next? I out of ideas.

Start from the battery and work your way to the plugs. Its a small system.

Sorry I meant to write more, but got pulled away from my phone. I would use a volt meter and just check how far down the ignition system the power continues. Are you getting power to the coils. You said the ignitors tested good. Does that mean you are getting power to the ignitors? Forgive me, but when you tested for spark you grounded the spark plug? If all that checks out check you pick up coil in the distributor. Good luck! Let us know if you figure it out.

There is power to the igniters where the lead connect. I read 11.9 volts. There is power to the coils when ignition is on. Although the igniters continue to test good, I think they are some how failing. Besides checking the air gap what other check could I do to the pick up coil? these cars use a coil that is for external resisters. Where are the resisters? Are they part of the igniter? Power at the lead coil also reads 11.9 volts. This car sat behind someones house for many years before I bought it. The previous owner told me the 12A that was in the car was a recent install ( to the time he put the car away) and was running when he put the car away. I started that 12A and it ran for about 5 minutes. After that it would start no more. Thanks for reading my post and your feed back. I used a vice grip to ground a test spark plug to the strut tower. this to elimanation the possibility of flooded plugs.
