Newb question....
Currently i own a 2001 audi a4 1.8t with mods. I'm in love with fc's and plan on picking one up as soon as i sell my audi. A few of my friends have them and have told me that unless u go turboii it's not worth it. My question is , is an n/a fc really that bad? i mean i know to turbo it u have to do alot swap rear ends (From what i have heard) etc. I'm going to be building this car to drift , does the n/a motor produce enough power? Adventually i would probally swap motors but during the mean time is an n/a fc enjoyable?
Thanks for reading and i appreciate ur response.

new carb for my 13b
I have just finished swapping my 12a for a 13b. 12a was messed up. i ordered a racing beat upper manifold part #18101 and now I'm looking at Weber options. I have spent to much time today looking at all the different carbs and Weber sold me. But which one. i was thinking the 40 dcoe would best fit my application and budget.
I'm not going to be racing but i will be doing alot of highway 55-65 mph. I also will be doing a lot of city driving. I'm also wanting the best millage i can get. So I'm open to opinions thanks.

Don't be silly, I have a 1990 FC convertible and at 286RWHP, it will more than suit my needs for both street and competition use. The N/A engine is great but to produce the same amount of power, it will take some more work. If you're into having fun working on your car and not just paying someone else to do it, then the N/A engine is IMHO the best way to go.
I know im gonna **** some turbo II owners off with this but for the price difference and the N/A's abilities I think the N/A is a perfect beginner rotary, being new to rotaties (but not to racing) myself.
Are you planning on doing racing drifts or big showy ones?
Plain and simple, if you start to learn on an N/A engine, you're technique will improve whether you swap it out later or not. Starting with less power is gonna give you the opportunity to hone your skills. At a lower power level you'll have to do learn to do it the right way.

I personally like the non-turbo RX-7s better, but if you like drifting, then you would probably want a turbocharged model.

I have a n/a and sometimes wish I had a t2. But for the most part I am happy with my n/a, and will be even more so when I get it running properly.
You said the main purpose for the fc is drifting? Why not keep the audi and just pick up a fc as a project? Just remember to pick the right fc for whatever fits your needs best.
