New Owner... I have a HUGE problem.

Hello everybody, glad i found you.

I am a new owner of a FD and am hoping after reading what i have to say, someone can direct me to the proper forum to get the maximum number of views as possible. I need opinions, advice to solve my "missing car" problem.

HELP. I cannot a afford to hire a lawyer and the police will not help until I do some legwork first.

If anyone sees this car in or around Palakta/Gainesville, please try to take a picture of it ( and the driver, if possible.) Also, if you can get any information where you saw this car and where it was going. It is a 94 FD3S, It has suede seats and FEED headlight cover intake, blue flames on the hood. It has the factory air spoiler on the rear deck. I will pay money for this information if it is the right car.

I purchased a black, 1994 rx 7 from a friend , who now lives out of state. I have the title and bill of sale, however, with the condition that I locate the vehicle from his ex-girlfriend, she is NOT the registered owner. He has washed his hands and it is up to me to locate it. The police will not help and say it is a civil matter as the owner willingly allowed the ex girlfriend use of the the car. But now that the relationship has ended the girlfriend refuses to return the car or tell him where it is. The DMV will not transfer the title until I locate the car and the police can verify the VIN#, only then will the title be transferred to my name. Time is critical as the ex girlfriends brother desperately wants the car and will do anything to keep the car hidden, even possibly going so far as selling the parts to keep from returning the car. We know the car has been moved several times in the area.

I would like to post this in the appropriate forum .

Here is a link to the regional section where this would get the attention it needs: https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/

Also, I know here in CA if I showed up with a signed title in my hand they would at least put the car in my name even if they won't validate the registration.

Also, you can hire a private investigator to locate the car.

Thanks for the reply. They said because the car hasnt been registered in xx years then it needs to be verified the title matches the car. I dunno

That is correct...for most DMVs....trick is to find one that won't want to take the time to verify it.
