Question Need Some Advice

I've been saving up for a project car. I'm deciding between the RX-7 FC, AE86, and a Porsche 944. My first choice is the Rx-7, but one of my biggest concerns was whether or not I would fit in the car....

It sounds like a stupid question, but its hard doing car shopping when you're 6'5". Are there any tall owners or drivers out there that have some insight?

Thanks for your help

Find some local ones for sale and go try them out. You won't get much useful advice till you sit in the car.

my brother is 6' 3 and can comfortably drive my car. keep in mind though that RX-7s sit pretty low to the ground so getting in and out might be a little awkward.
Try and find a club there in socal that likes to meet up regularly, I'm sure those guys would be more than happy to accommodate you.

I'm 6'3 and fit comfortably in my fc, the only issue im having is my foot sometimes catching the break with the edge of my shoe when depressing the clutch but besides that its a very comfortable car!
Again like the other guys said, go find a meet or a used RX just to sit in and try it for yourself.

If you sit in one, and feel you're just a shy to tall for it, you can always get a low mount seat bracket. Then if you want a little more space, try getting a shorter steering wheel hub with a low dish steering wheel.

Also, there is a slight headroom difference depending on the trim:

37.2" Coupe
36.8" Coupe with sunroof
36.5" Convertible with top up

The Porsche 944 will have slightly more headroom, maybe 38" or so. I am not sure about the AE86, but I would think that the car in general would be pretty small for a big person.

mt buddy is 6'5 and can get into my FC pretty easily..hes not a fan of my FD at all though..but the only trouble he has with the FC is getting in and out because of how low the car sits..

All the cars are pretty small. Is it going to make that big of a difference?

Im 6'2" and I lay my seat back a bit, I would like more head room and the ability to see the top of my gauges.
