i just got my fd rebuilt and at the first start of the day it smokes. is this normal? and how is gas mileage on these cars becuase i am getting 50 miles for half a tank

 

Your car will smoke a bit upon startup. It is normal. It will happen even more with a freshly rebuilt motor, same with the fuel economy. Depending on the rebuild it may take as many as 2k miles until the new engine is broken in.

 

Depends on the type of smoke but its probably just normal condensation. Just about all cars smoke on first startup.

The fuel mileage depends on how you drive it and what kind of mods the car has and what BomberMan said.

 

Often times smoke after a rebuild is various goop and such burning off. If you are driving in the city, expect about 8-14 mpg based on your tune, mods, etc. On a car with no tune, running super rich and maybe some bolt ons with the occasional spirited driving I'd expect 180-220 miles to a tank in the city.

 

i drove the car for a week and filled up and it only gave me 100 miles on full tank but that was with my pushing the car. my upgrades are exhaust intake streetport downpipe running 8 psi boost
