MD Racing ECU
Hello,
I have a TII ecu that was modified by MD racing. Although the difference is apparent from the factory ECU, does anyone else have one of these and/or is familiar with that modifications were typically carried out?
Thanks

The only info I can find on it is this write-up someone made for a N326 (NA) ECU: http://www.rx7.voodoobox.net/howto/chip/chip.html. It has some very generous HP/TQ gains listed from apparent timing & fuel modifications. They're a little too generous if you ask me.
MD Racing looks to be out of business, and from the write-up it sounds like they were tight-lipped about what exactly they changed. If your TII chip is anything like one of the many Japanese chips, fuel cut will be removed and the timing & fuel may have been played with. It could even be intended for use with larger injectors, which would pretty much mean a blown engine if you used stock 550s.

it definitely feels torquier right off idle hence I suspect that timing, if not boost, were modified. I don't hit any fuel cut, but have not monitored the injector duty cycle to determine if the 550cc injectors are undersized. However, the car is all stock (I know maybe a rarity these days).

I thought it was a little old and I already read that the company (MD racing) isn't around anymore but the SAS website mentioned on that page is still up and functioning. I thought it was a little odd that the timing was advanced so much too, with the knowledge I know about rotaries advancing the timing that far can blow your engine easily. Oh well, looks like I'll be getting a stand alone ECU when I get the cash. It's too bad thats not real, it would be worth the money. By the way, I never said I was getting it chipped by them I just would like to get one of my ECU's chipped.

Yeah, I saw the SAS website is still up, but I couldn't find any info on these chips there. It seems like they may have stopped doing it altogether. The only active company I know of that still makes chips for our ECUs is Pocketlogger. And you'd have to go with the Rtek 2.0 to do anything to gain power.
