You need a new oil metering pump.

Get a factory service manual (FSM) for your car from the stickys in the section for whatever gen. you have. Typically the OMP has to be replaced....usually with used. In the FD limp cuts fuel and prevents timing advance if vacuum isnt seen at the intake manifold.

Since an S4 doesn't go into limp mode and his profile says 91 RX7,he needs an S5 OMP.

Should be noted: When your OMP goes it often takes out your ECU with it. I'd pick up both.

you can block off your omp and run a premix (gasoline/oil) mix, not sure why the omp has you in limp mode if tons of people throw theirs in the trash.

Because the S5 OMP is Electrical and is hooked to the ECU and will throw the ECU into Limp mode.
You can't just toss an S5 OMP into the Trash. The ECU needs it,and if it doesn't "see it"?..guess What??..LIMP mode!
Now,an S4's Omp is mechanical and can be disconnected and you can run Premix.
The only way that you can run an S5 with Premix is to get an RTEK based ECU or a Standalone.
Even if you take the OMP off the S5 engine it still needs to be hooked in Electronically,so you would dangle it in the engine bay, still hooked up..and that would be "half assed" at best. You wouldn't be achieving anything.

Why does Banzai and Pineapple sell a block off kit based on what you said?

For people going to a standalone.

The fact that you claim to have three FDs speaks volumns on what you know, and especially what you don't know, about the cars.
Despite your name-calling in another thread (and my temptation of taking this to the next level), this is the new member section. If you don't want to be told your wrong, don't post.

OP I am sorry I forgot to add you can thrown the OMP IN THE TRASH but only if you premix and are running another ecu. Limp mode is a nice protection mode but can be a pita if coupled with other issues to diagnose. I would recommend picking up a power fc in the future as it would allow you to THROW THE OMP IN THE TRASH without limp mode, as well as tune your car. It would also prevent your car from going into limp mode if the knock sensor breaks or goes bad. If you need to buy a working omp contact me. Another thing about rx7s is some people are great at using 10mm and 12mm rachets for pretty cute bolts on but the best thing to do is learn them yourself by working on them in real life situations.
