It is more likely a leak from the filter pedestal, which has 2 o-rings sealing it against the rear iron. There are two 10mm nuts holding it on from the bottom.

If you find out that is the problem, just go to a Parts store and get the Same sized O Rings
another thing that should be done is to Put a dab of ooiil on the Filter's rubber seal. This seals the Oil filter rather effectively. You do not have to Tighten the Filter Excessively..just a 1/4 after Hand tight.

Yeah, those little 10mm nuts are not the easiest to take on/off with the engine in the car. Hopefully that was it.

Mine are also leaking and I have been putting off fixing it because I heard it is quite a pain. Does anybody have some pictures or tips and tricks for this?

i just did it i used a 10mm wrench on the rear bolt(a short wrench would help) and a socket on the front bolt. its hard to see but bolts are under the oil filter. it took about 15 minutes and a bit of a pain getting tools in there. good luck
i am all good no more leaky oil filter.SWEET!!!
