Question An incredibly stupid question I can't find the answer to..

I hate to ask, but I can't seem to find the answer to this question;

What is the button on the center console of an FD? Says something about exhaust I think.

I went to look at an FD this past weekend and the salesman said 'Oh that's for emergencies only, don't EVER touch that!'

Now obviously he's an idiot, but now I want to know and I honestly can't find my answer anywhere lol.

Thanks

There are many buttons on the center console of an FD:

But I assume you are referring to the red one? Hazard lights. The salesman was just jerking you around.

The rearmost down by your elbow, if memory serves me correctly it mentions something about exhaust and/or heat in the exhaust system

Not owning an FD I can only go by pictures. In the picture above, can you point out the button? I know of no "exhaust" button on any RX-7. Are you referring to an exhaust overheat light?

Yes. It is not a button you push. It is a "Excessive Heat" warning for your exhaust. There is no way to activate the button by your physical action. Others can provide a more detailed explanation of why it would come on or even better search. =)

I'd be scared to buy an FD from any type of dealership or business that had "salesmen".
