Find and fix any vacuum leaks, then adjust the TPS as per the instructions in the Haynes/FSM.

Aaron Cake is one of the more knowledgeable people on the forums...I'd consider his suggestion first. =)

Could be, if there was a such thing as an "idle sensor".

umm just wanted to ask if you let your car warm up when your having the problem or if your all ways having that problem? cas you know when the car is cold theirs a wax seal that has to basically melt away before you get the nice and easy idle?

The cold high idle should still be smooth and not wander everywhere. If it wanders, there is a problem (TPS, vacuum leaks). The cold idle should be a nice steady ~1500 RPM which will gradually decrease as the car warms.

after a while it doesnt wander as much...my idle stays below 1000rpm and moves between 0-1000rpm when the car is fully warm...when the car isnt warm then the wandering happenes between 1000rmp to 2500rmp(rough estimate)...

Wats does TPS stand for?........n i checked for vacuum leaks but didnt find any...mite hv missed sumthin tho...what should i be checkin exactully?

Throttle Position Sensor.

If you are absolutely sure that there are no vacuum leaks and that nothing on the throttle body is sticking, then you can follow the procedure in the FSM to set the idle to 750 RPM as per factory. But ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE THERE ARE NO OTHER PROBLEMS.

While driving home today I pushed my car a bit and when I got home and stopped in the drive way I pulled the e-break, put it in neutral and the idle began to jump up and my engine began to shake way more than it has before while motionless. The A/C was on the whole time I was driving. Would that be a factor? Although, I did turn of the A/C and I was still having the problem. What can be causing this?
