Dude..you are going to have to be more specific than that.Location of leak, broken pipes?..Type of car?.Series?...ETC!
Your question is like saying to a Blind guy "it hurts when I do THIS".

Series two rx7 around the mid pipe. Someone told me its not a exhaust leak and that it's the apex seals about to go.

Post a pic of that guy so we can laugh at him.
ANYONE who doesn't know JACK about an Rx7 will say "oh.duh, maybe apex seals? "..
They think an Apex Seal is a furry sea animal propped up on a hill!
.......
If you own a car and know it has an exhaust leak then it is an Exhaust leak.
It happens, and needs to be repaired by finding out where it is.
If the car had "bad apex seals" then it would not Run Correctly..lack power,smoke..not start immediately..Etc..
and that can be confirmed with a compression test.
Please stick to advice you'll get here, and not Guys that "blame it on apex seals".
.Info on this Forum will not be a GUESS.
The members here will give you sound advice as they have had experiences with the cars and post their info and findings as they own the vehicle.
That is How this Forum grows with it's vast resources of answers to problems.

just.... wow. Get the car in the air, start it up and look around the whole exhaust system for cracks, rusted holes, broken welds ect. If it only "leaks" or "gets louder" when driving, have a buddy sit inside and rev it while doing what I just said.

This is not rocket science here.

You won't really know where it is unless you get under the car and look/listen. Could be a crack, could be a gasket.

if you have a friend hold a rag over the tailpipe whule its idling it will make the leak worse (increased backpressure) and easier to pinpoint.

1. as already advised, either get under it while running (using safety precautions, please) and find out what needs to be replaced, then replace it ... OR ... take it to an exhaust shop. done.

2. once the exhaust is fixed, find that "someone" and kick them in the groin. HARD!
