Hi. I am trying to build the tokyo drift RX7
Hi everyone. I am new to rx7 and since after watch tokyo drift, I daydream the car almost everyday. Right now, I finally have some fund to work with. The budget I get is about 60k. Is it enough for the rx7 veilside body kit and the 20b swap engine? And, what other part I have to get for the project? Thank you very much

$60K is about half what it would take to hire someone to do all the work. Keep in mind that the body kit alone will be approximately $20K - $30K just to arrive at your door.
20B conversion and tuning will be another $50K.
Body work, probably $10K - $15K.
Then all the "minor" details like suspension, interior, incidental repairs, etc.
After all that you'll have a car that you can't drive for fear of damage, vandalism and theft.

The car's styling (ugly IMO) aside, you do know that the movie car wasn't a 3 rotor...don't you? IIRC it was a 13bREW with a single turbo.

That one is listed by my buddy in AZ. With that, you might be able to do the 20B conversion after depending what you want. Hes been wanting to list here but doesn't have an account set up yet and needs to have a few posts. I can give you his contact if you want to buy it.
Once you have tenure and post count, you may not want to mention this build in the 3rd Gen. Section. Most of us have been trying to live down all the F and F stuff for years. I could see it being a source of flammage.
O thank God, at last I'm able to post at thread. For you dear, I think you are a little bit late motivator. As Tokyo Drift has come many years ago. If you planned such type of thing then you should express it vary before. As now there are many things come after in market after this. At the end, don't mind, this was my opinion, Interested persons will contact you at any cost.
hey, this is just my opinion but i hope you don't plan on actually drifting in this fine piece of automotive genius after it is built... I would hate to see yet another beautiful FD all twisted up sitting in the police impound yard =(
Sorry, maybe a little cold, but IMO there's at least a 50/50 chance the OP is still in high school with $600 budget, not $60,000. So you have a 50/50 chance of worrying about nothing.
dyang9000 Does the veil side kit adversely impact the cars handling?
Not really as long you keep with the stock offset and width wheels (sunken battleship)
.
If you flush out the fenders with crazy offset you have largely undone all the great steering/suspension geometry work done by the Mazda engineers that makes the FD handle so well.
