Help identifying 13b water pump housing for my PP

Hello everyone, looking for some help identifying which water pump housing I need to buy for this build I'm starting to take on.

I have no clue which one to order from Mazdatrix so any help would be great.

Don't know to much about the motor as it came out of a GT2 RX7 SCCA car and was sold to me buy a 3rd party seller so....I'm all alone lol!

Cheers, Scott.

Looks like an early 13B (RX-4, Cosmo, REPU) so a GSL-SE 1st gen housings bolts right on. Or better, a 2nd gen S4 aluminum housing can be used with only minor mods (plug one hole and tap another...will be obvious when you see it and the matching water pump).

definately not an early 13b but being unfamiliar with the very later model engines, i notice it's missing the stud that's usually in the radius near the dist/cas location. the one where the alt bracket mounts. i'm running an 86 pump housing on my 74 engine, that's how i found out bout the relocation of that particular mounting stud in the 86 and later engines.

Looking at the parts list it seems the 86-88 year non turbo/manual trans in NLA.

Which one to get? Would the 89-92 non turbo N/A work? Seems to utilize the same gasket to engine as the 86-88.

I little stumped at this point.

Thanks, Scott.

my bad, aaron is right. looking at the link u posted and the pump housing to engine gasket for 74-85, i would have swore it had a stud there. but i do know i had to put silicone in that hole ion the 86 pump housing i used on the 74 block. so i'll say it might be a 76-78 engine. in any case, a pump housing thu 85 will work with no problems or mods.

Rule #1: Aaron Cake is always right
Rule #2: When Aaron Cake is wrong, refer to Rule #1

No OMP nozzle bungs on the rotor housings is a clear sign of an early 13b. Since this is a Peripheral Port engine, it's going to be putting out a LOT of heat from extended high-rpm runs. Best bet would be to follow Aaron Cake's example and use a S4NA pump housing like he's doing on the 1976 Cosmo. Link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-0Yl..._order&list=UL

I'm wrong, but only occasionally.

Dead giveaway for an early 13B was the lack of metering oil nozzles, lack of 2nd stud boss near "Mazda" logo, and bigger Mazda logos. Also apparent lack of injector bosses on middle iron, plus no EGR (can't be a S4, nor any late irons due to water o-ring location on housings).

Funny thing about that video is I don't know why I tapped the water pump housing...I should have just welded it over. Which I will do. Then of course I need to blast and repaint it.
