Exclamation Help! Ground lead from battery to Starter monitor. Where does it go???

The one circled in red is from the positive lead at the battery. But the one circled in black, I forget where it goes! It has been disconnected since I put my new clutch in and the engine is slow to crank when trying to start, and at times will not start.

Where does this lead go? It is not long enough to fit over one of the terminals on the starter motor. If I recall correctly it may have been between the long bolt that goes through the engine block to hold the starter motor in. But it doesn't want to bend around back to where it is mounted. You can see the two large battery leads mounted to the left and behind the starter motor (camera view).

Neither the Haynes manual or the FSM for this car show a wiring diagram for the starter mortor!

If that is a ground wire, it can be connected to any bolt on the engine.

just attach it to one of the tranny to engine bolts or starter mounting bolts.

There is something very wrong with this picture

The wire circled in red is from your starter switch , it is much to light to carry full voltage to the starter from the battery .. There is something very wrong with this picture .. Where does the one circled in black come from ?

I got it, just connected it to ground by going through the long bolt that holds the starter into the transmission casing. It is starting up great now and charging good.

gerald_m - The red circled one is the same gauge as the black one. I think it goes to the battery but i'm not sure.
