help! fd smokes then dies!

When i start it smokes like huge clouds of white smoke. Its kind of a bitter smell. Coolant seal? How fucked am i.

based on your description of the smell, i'm thinking oil (which usually smokes blue, but can smoke white).

however, you mentioned the smoke part, but not the "dying" part. is it dying at idle or only under power?

it could be a few things off-hand, but either way it's probably not going to be good news.

I put sea foam in oil filler. Maby thats it? And i was completely on empty had to put gas in it and started smoking so i shut it off.

That gas guage still says its on e even though i put a gallon in along with 2 stroke oil. It idles for about a minute then dies

so was it smoking before the 2 stroke? how much 2 stroke did you use to that gallon and why just one gallon?

while i wait for your response, i'll speculate a bit ...

best case scenario i see is you've dragged all sorts of crap from an empty tank into and through the fuel system and now you need to address that. perhaps you simply added too much premix to one gallon of gas. premix doesn't usually smell "bitter", but i suppose stranger things have happened. that's BEST CASE ... pain in the ***, but nothing actually broken.

you can try cleaning the fuel system and changing the filter(s), then add some more fuel to the tank without premix. see what happens when you fire it. if it will hold an idle and still smokes, then all you have to do is track the source of the smoke.

I always premix so i doubt thats the issue. Probably running on e is the issue ill try changing fuel filter but my af ratio is 13.2 at idle not too bad oh and its a fc turbo II
