wont stop over heating
wont stop over heating
So on my way back from work the other day my fc overheated. I turned it off let it sit and tried again. Once again it overheated. Let it sit and realized the top raidiator hose was flat. Pulled the thermostat housing out(breaking two bolts) and realized the thermostat was jammed. I bought a new thermostat, re tapped the flange, and flushed the system/filled it.
How I flushed the system was by removing the radiator hose , draining and filling with water untill it was clear, then added 50/50 and topped it off. The top radiatior hose is holding alot of pressure. I tried to bleed it multiple Times And It Still Stays Hard.
Im at a loss and out my daily driver. Im gonna sell it soon I need to but im looking to see if there is another explination before I throw in the towel.can anyone help, or let me know whats going

the thing is, you admitted to overheating it more than once. you very well may have done real damage. i'm guessing you didn't know any better, so i'm stating, not chastising. the perceived extra pressure (if i understand what you're asking) may mean that the coolant seals have been compromised and putting combustion pressure in the system.
however, data is better than speculation. i don't know how long it takes for combustion gases to be detectable in the antifreeze (since you have new fluid now), but you should probably test it.

I was told if the seals blow then there would Be Coolant In The Exhaust And I Would Smell it. Yet I smell nothing. Unfortunately the car has no idiot light for the overheating x and I had no idea that these thermostats stick. So it was too late once I noticed, the smoke was already coming out . Could ot be anything else but the seals?

There are 2 ways that the engine can show a blown seal.
One is eating coolant, the other is Overheating.
If the combustion cycle allows the Internal Pressure of a "firing cycle" to bypass the Coolant O rings then you get pressure in the cooling system and that shows up as overheating or spitting coolant.
What you could test is the cooling system by doing a pressure check on it.
Another thing you could do since you have nothing to lose really is Get an OEM thermostat..nothing but OEM.

yes ... listen to Misterstyx69. pressure test the system. that honestly slipped my mind in my previous post, but it's a good idea to do it.
well, it might and then again it might not. also, you'd likely only notice such signs on a cold start.

I dont know if I correctly "bled" the system. So maybe this could be an issue?
Can someone walk me through this?
well, i had the time right now and your time for using the Noob excuse is limited
