Unhappy Has anybody else had a power steering pulley shear off?

Hi I had a power steering pulley wheel shear off and had to replace it.

Since I fitted the new one I have been hearing a clinking noise which I think is coming from the power steering pump.

Has anybody else exerienced this or have any idea what might be the problem? perhaps the power steering pump is seizing up?

Many thanks, Clive

Was it the pulley on the pump or the idler pulley? Idler pulley bearings do fail. But if it was the pulley on the pump, and the pump is clicking, then replace the pump.

Ya,I agree with Aaron.there has to be some reason why the pulley sheared off,and merely just replacing the Pulley would not suffice. The Pump may have an Obstruction in it that made it Seize temporarily. That could shear the pulley from it.
I'd be safe and just replace the Pump with a Used unit.
Check out the Second Gen Parts for Sale Section.you can get one used for Cheap.( 50 bucks and you paid too much, sort of thing.)
Good Luck and I hope that helped ya.
