PA hard to start and wont stay runing??

like title says...i just got this 91 turbo2 from a friend...i deflood the motor, new oil, new plugs, new wires....i was messing around yesterday tryin to start it and i got it to start and run for 10 sec...i had to keep my foot on the gas so i will keep runing but then after 10 sec it just shut off...while it was running the motor was shakin like a mutofocker....but anyway my ? is how do you adjust the timing on it...i was messing around with the dizzy thats how i got it to start....so im thinkin timing is a little off

There is no distributor on 2nd gen cars. You're probably talking about the CAS (Crank Angle Sensor). This should never be adjusted from the properly orientation. If you pull the CAS out, there will be a couple of marks you can line up when re-inserting it. Buy/rent a timing light to ensure it's been inserted properly. A Haynes manual will give you some tips on this process, as well as threads you'll find in the 2nd gen section.

Typically if you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running it is associated with a vacuum leak.

the funny thing is last year i got it running w/out airflow meter and drove it around for 10 mins and it ran fine and idle a little high, but it ran....so if i align that crank angle senor correctly it should start no problem rite?

aite i was messing around with the cAR again and it seem to start and run w/ the fuel pump dissable until theres no fuel....and when i plug the it back up the car shuts off....so it seems that its dumpping too much fuel and flooding the engine...so how would i go on to fixing it...i should b gettin a used working afm in a week or so and ima hook back up the apexi safc, greddy turbo timer, and greddy boost controller...all i know is that the engine is street ported and it has bigger injectors....some help would b great thanks
