Gasoline Smell Under Hood

Hey guys. I have an 86 GXL fc with 75,000 miles on it. I smell gas everytime i stsrt the car. I think one of the injectors is leaking, but i want some thoughts from my fellow RX-7 owners. I removed the injectors and i can see moisture at the mesh of the intake manifold maybe thats the cause. It runs fine, but the smell is terrible. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks in advance

Mesh of the intake manifold?

Check your pulsation damper. It is a very common leak point. Located at the rear of the primary fuel rail.

That would be an air bleed / fuel atomizer: http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-6.htm. If it's wet after the engine has been sitting for a little while, you could have a leaky injector.

But if you're smelling fuel, it's probably the PD or another fuel leak, as Aaron suggested. You can pressurize the fuel system by jumping the 2-prong yellow test connector at the passenger strut tower. Turn the key to ON, and you'll hear fuel the fuel pump switch on. If there's a leak, you should be able to see/smell it.

sounds simple and you have probably already checked but make sure all your hoses are properly clamped. I've had that happen twice and that took care of it. Hopefully its that simple
