FD RPF1 Fitment Clarification

Hello All,
i have been researching for wheel and tire fitment and had a question regarding a post in one of the suspension stickies.

In Flywheels Max Fitment Post he states that Enkei RPF1s in 17x9 +45 will not clear Stoptech brake kit.
Does this apply to most all 17 x 9 +45 wheels, or is it specific to the RPF1 because of their design(it appears to have a smaller inner diameter than other similarly sized rims)?

Thanks
Nick

I can tell you that +45 is gonna be sunken in and look a little off. +35 is about right for an FC on 17x9s.

Here's a pic of my old FC on 17x8 and 9 RPF1s with +35 all around. I went for 8s in the front for just the reason you have. More clearance for big brakes. See how the spokes on the 8s and 9s are a little different? More clearance in front because of the spoke design? 45 offset will need effect that even more..Chances are the 45s will not fit because of that. It's a little hard to see in this pic. I can post a different one if needed, but yeah. That's one reason 17x9 RPF1s don't work in that offset. Spoke design.

Natey,
thank you for the detailed reply. I see what you mean for the FC. I didn't specify the question was regarding and FD. I'm not sure how much they differ but I have updated the title of the past to include that additional information.

Here's my FD on the same wheels. They did fit but needed a fender roll in front, which tells me +45 will fit with no issues.

I ended up swapping my Enkeis for a set of 17x10 wheels with a +45 offset. Those fit perfectly and look about perfect (in my 45 year old opinion).
Here's the 17x10s. They're CCW classics.
