Few questions about FD rx7 wiring

I recently bought this 93 RX7. Someone did some "handy work" on it and I am trying to fix it. Got a few questions.

Any one have any idea what this would be for? I don't want to mess with it cause the car runs perfect right now, but it starts at the fuel pump and goes to the fuse box.

And any idea what these cut wires were for? Its under the consule where the rear defroster, fog light, etc are.

A guess, but it might be related to this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ty-mod-615964/ It's designed to increase voltage (or avoid voltage drop) to the fuel pump. I've never seriously looked into it as I tend to avoid electronic mods like Bin Laden avoided ham sandwiches. So.....

The only thing I can think of in that area is the wiring going to the lights for those switches and the ashtray light. Hard to tell from the pic, but they (should be) pretty small wires because there isn't much draw from those lights. You could confirm that by putting a multi-meter on it and adjusting the dash light brightness. It should also change accordingly.

Thanks for the help, I'll look into both of those. I believe that there is a plug for the lighted ash tray. There aren't any more spots that I could see for a plug to plug into, so I don't know why it was cut unless someone wanted a power source.

Spent the day removing a whole rats nest of crappy sub/amp wiring and getting the radio set up back to factory.

What are the colors of the wires for the one by the rear defroster? First guess would be the heat warning light as it's the least likely to be noticed if it isn't connected or working.
