FC turbo

Sorry for a n00b question, but is it possible (or even worth) turboing a none turbo FC. Now i know the S5 na came with a 9.7:1 compression, would this be bad?

Yes, but it's usually done on S4 6-port engines w/ a 9.4:1 compression ratio. The higher compression of the S5 6-port tends to make tuning much harder.

Like RR88 says, it can be done, but to address the other part of your question--is it worth it. Depends on what you are trying to accomplish? If you want to end up with an equivalent Turbo II, you may be better off starting with a Turbo II. That's because the TII has a different transmission, a limited-slip differential, better brakes, different ECU, a lower compression ratio, and so on.

If you are talking about just tossing a turbo onto a non-turbo engine it is a bad idea. A lot of guys change up the entire engine and drivetrain effectivly dooing a tII swap.
There is a lot of debate on the subject and 70% of guys will disagree with me (mostly guys looking to justify the swap they performed), but I feel a TII is a much better option than swaping up an NA

If you're just looking to boost power, you may want to look into having it ported instead. Depending on how much work you're doing yourself (and I'm starting to be amazed by how much work rx7 tuners seem to be willing to do TO their car vs others who just have work done ON their car) you might get comparable power out of it for less money, and not have to deal with exactly those compression issues. Otherwise, the swap is probably better than the install. Of course, a TII will get you better gas milage, but I gave up on that issue for my NA fc a long time ago lol.

Can I swap a Turbo engine/Jspec engine/13BT/etc into my Non Turbo?
Yes, check these links:

What Turbo kits can I add onto my non turbo RX-7?
There are no longer kits formally made at the time of this post, however there are companies from time to time that do make available non turbo to Turbo Kits. Because most of these companies stop building the kits, or go out of business in short time, it is impossible to keep active links for them.

Most people that turbo a non turbo make their own kits:
Using the stock TII turbo, exhaust manifold with spacer, NA intakes and NA ECU:
