Engine Swap in a FD

Before you ask, No I'm not necessarily looking to do an LS Swap but I am looking to do an engine swap. So I'm currently looking into getting an FD shell soon but after all of the Rotary horror stories, and the fact that I don't really have the funds to keep up with Rotary rebuild costs and maintenance. So I'm looking at different engines that will be a good alternative for a rotary. Originally I was looking at some motorcycle engines just so I can still have some high revving fun, But I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to have that be my first real experience with modifying a car. Are there any engines you guys would recommend looking into?

Possibly a Rocket Bunny V2 kit, RB25 swap (there's not many rotaries for sale near me also I think the rb25 will suit my needs more than a rotary), Bonnet exhaust, fender exhaust, Stripped interior w/ Roll Cage, Bride Seats, Momo/Sparco steering wheel, Dmax hood, Big turbo setup (450-600hp tops), Enkei VR5's, Mishimoto Intercooler, Baby Blue repaint. and more I haven't decided on yet.

Back in November it sounded like you had the funds...and like you had it all figured out right down to the steering wheel. But you're right, that motorcycle engine swap will never get you to "450-600hp...tops".

I did have it down and I was hoping it would happen but a lot of stuff is happening as of recent, And my family is buying a new house and other things. So basically I'm now on a pretty tight budget, Not so tight that it will never happen but just tight enough to the point of where I don't know if a rotary will be a good option still, And I don't have much hands-on experience with RX7s or cars in general so I thought it would be a good idea to ask the experts again.

From what I've heard, Aren't those super expensive and relatively rare? The FD that I'm looking at is at a super good price but probably won't be up for long since the guy needs to sell it but I'm still sorting out where I'll put it and the finances, I'll look and find some FB's and if I can't get the FD I'll get a FB.

Quite the opposite. FBs (and FCs) are relatively inexpensive. It is also a good car to cut your teeth on (IMO). I've owned all three and found the FB a well balanced little sports car (probably similar to a Miata which i have not owned).

If you found an inexpensive FD, it will eventually cost you in the long run

Regardless what you do, recomend you do some research

Motorcycle engines don't have enough torque to be useful in a car, just saying

I don't have much money myself but I'm sure a few of my family members especially that uncle would be willing to "donate" some money to the project and gift me parts on holidays and such. I was considering getting it back to stockish but I personally thought instead of just buying parts i would probably get rid of down the line wouldn't be that good of an idea but I think your right in that sense to where in case it does fall through i can just sell it off. Thanks .

Sorry Elijah, assuming you're not a troll and to put it as politely as I can...you're in way over your head. You can't go to the moon on a bicycle and have no idea of what an engine swap in any car entails or how much it will cost. And for the love of God, you're 18... pay for your own stuff. As I suggested in that first thread, go to school and get a job that will support a hobby car and stop depending on others.

Arman is correct, they are goo in kit cars that are under 1200lbs anything above that will not be suitable unless you run dual engines like the Tiger Z100
