Need engine swap expert in Michigan, PLUS engine swap story/help

Any of you around Michigan done an engine swap? I'm going to swap a TurboII into my '79, but after going from a 12A to another 12A in my '80 race car and it's STILL not done, I'm thinking I'd like to have an "expert" help me out with it for a weekend.

Oh yeah, and why it's still not done? Got the old engine/tranny out, new ones in. Hooked up "all" the lines (except fuel lines), finally put oil in it today, it's showing like double the amount of oil it should have in it right now (it's almost an inch above "F" on the dipstick) although I drained it already, and only put 4 quarts in it (exactly what the book said). So I'm going to probably drain the engine again and pull the oil pan off, clean it completely out, and see if that "fixes" it. Anyhow, we crank the engine over then to pull some oil (no fuel lines hooked up yet), and I see a puddle of oil on the ground.. great.. the oil pressure regulator (or whatever it was) just below the oil filter wasn't screwed in at all (it WAS on the old engine, but not on this one). Took it off the old one, put it on the new one.

Later, after screwing with the radiator hoses forever and finally (kinda) getting them on (what a PAIN), I flush the system with water, then hook it all up and start filling with antifreeze.. first it leaks out the bottom hose (it wasn't on exactly flush, really stupid..) and then after I fix THAT, I fill it up, seems to be going good, let it go for a while, then fill it up some more, it fills up, and water starts coming out right by the damn thermostat!!! ANOTHER part wasn't screwed in on this engine, that WAS on the old one.. so I go pick that one up, this time I think it was the water temp sensor.. so I hooked that up, and it seems to hold fluids now.. yay!! Hopefully I can get it to run.. it's..

it's not cranking as fast as it should be (kinda like "whum, whum.... whum.. whum, whum..." I had it hooked up to a battery charger (set to "high power quick boost") and it was weird.. no problem right now because I don't need to get it started RIGHT away, but soon. So now I just need to hook up the fuel lines (inside the fuel tank I think they're disconnected), and make sure all those miscellaneous hoses and metal lines inside the engine bay don't do anything mission-critical (on my race car) like oil lines or something. Plus I need to make sure that the wiring harness is hooked up to everything correctly too.

Oh yeah, ONE more thing.. on the alternator, I have TWO wire choices to hook up to the "B" port on it, both have donut-shaped connectors, one's connected to the wiring harness and is black (ground?), the OTHER runs right to the battery and is red (power?). Which one should I hook up?
When I hooked the black one up to it, the voltmeter on the tach went up all the way and pegged itself on the right side. The voltmeter inside the instrument cluster (custom) registered 14 volts. I haven't hooked up the red one yet, but when neither of them was hooked up, the tach only read like 11-12 volts, while the other read 14.. It's freaking odd.

well, I'm in Southeast Michigan now by Detroit, but Lansing is about 1 1/2 hours from here, and 1 hour from school.. course it'd have to be towed there.. I was more thinking of someone who could just stop by and help me out.
