Couple questions about my new turbo

Been searching through the pile of parts that came with my new project, and have run into a few questions. I apologize in advance if my terminology is off a bit, I am still a noob

The person I bought the car from had gotten a 3" down pipe, for the life of me I cannot find a decent picture of how my exhaust is supposed to connect to the turbo. The flanges between the exhaust and turbo don't match, I assume the down pipe just wasn't meant for this turbo? Or maybe I am missing a piece? Anyone got a good picture of their stock turbo with a aftermarket exhaust?

Also the section of the turbo that connects to the manifold on the engine has a few cracks in it. Do I need to replace this? I am hoping to get this car going without buying any major parts.

Your turbo is missing the cover plate that goes on the back. Take a look through the classified section; I'm sure someone has a picture in there.

The cracks in the turbine housing are common, and will be ok.

Here, I remembered I had this picture of my machined S5 cover plate. This is the inside of it, and it is larger than the S4 version. Metal was machined out to allow the wastegate to open further & allow more flow.
