Mazda videos
Thank you for the links. This is a great demonstration showing how a rotory works compared to a piston engine. I just wish there where more of them out there.

Funny quote #1: "In the rotary engine, three explosions produce three revolutions of the shaft, providing greater efficiency [than a piston engine]."
More efficient than a piston engine? LOL
Funny quote #2: "Furthermore, intake, compression, and combustion, take place in different parts of the operating chamber, so there is no danger of overheating."
tell that every person who started getting hot (including myself) going over the grapevine pass on the way to SevenStockXII.
Funny quote #3: "It will only be a matter of time, before the reciprocating piston engine is replaced, by the highly efficient rotary engine."
Lol wow. I personally talked to Jeremy Barnes Mazda's PR Director at SevenStockXII one of the things he said: "Rotary engines are just not efficient at all, I don't even know why Mazda continues to develop them." Showing his obvious lack of support for the rotary engine.
HOWEVER, my love for the rotary motor will not die, and if it was up to me every single thing on this planet that needed a motor would have a rotary in it.
Great informative video!

Just because a white dude can't seem to harness the rotary chi of the Japanese doesn't mean what he says is true. It's very obvious to me that the united states likes to spend all their money and time on research and development for military planes, bombs, crowd dispersing weapons, and other destructive means while keeping the population happy with old technology like v8's with heated leather seats and other gadgets that make the car expensive yet retain the same technology we've had for 100+ years. The piston motor took a long time to get where it is today with many different manufactures spending a lot of time and money on research and development. I think what one car company has done with the rotary engine from it's start to the rx8 is not only amazing but it shows the type of heart I want to see in a company. I think we've all seen in the past few months what happens to car companies when the only thing they think about is the all mighty dollar, shareholders, and thinking inside the box. While I'm glad you were able to talk to this man I don't think his Mazda bosses would be to happy to find him talking like this, at a rotary event no less

Don't get me wrong, Jeremy Barnes had a lot of love for the people at SevenStock, and was merely talking from a management position when he made that remark. The Rx-8 did not sell well at all, even the super acclaimed Miata (20 years later and it only makes 170hp and only gets 25mpg) had poor sales. The sports car fad has died down and it doesn't make sense for Mazda to develop the rotary engine anymore or even true sports cars in general. He did say one of the focuses of the new 16x was gas mileage. Who knows, maybe we will see a 25mpg rotary? That would be awesome.
All in all I am fascinated with the Rotary engine and these videos were absolutely dopetastic.
