Question Clutch is getting stuck when trying to disengage

Thank you for checking out my issue. When I put it in gear and let off the clutch a little with gas and then need to press the clutch down again to brake (like you have to in gridlock traffic), it gets stuck half way down, and not always in the exact place. I have to apply more pressure to get the clutch to disengage fully, causing a "cu-thunk" sound from the engine, and the car to jerk like the clutch was just punched. This doesn't happen when I fully release the clutch pedal and then press it down.

I've replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders. Not sure what to try next.

Thanks,

-Dan

If you’ve replaced the hydraulics it sounds like a mechanical failure. Could be a lot of things but first thought involves the pressure plate...maybe one or more fingers failed, or the throw-out bearing binding on the input shaft. In any event you should stop driving it and the transmission will have to be dropped.
