Question Clutch is getting stuck when trying to disengage

Thank you for checking out my issue. When I put it in gear and let off the clutch a little with gas and then need to press the clutch down again to brake (like you have to in gridlock traffic), it gets stuck half way down, and not always in the exact place. I have to apply more pressure to get the clutch to disengage fully, causing a "cu-thunk" sound from the engine, and the car to jerk like the clutch was just punched. This doesn't happen when I fully release the clutch pedal and then press it down.

I've replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders. Not sure what to try next.

Thanks,

-Dan

Was the clutch recently replaced? Something may be wrong with the diaphragm springs maybe? Although it's so weird that the pedal gets stuck halfway down. Have you gone under the pedal and tried replicating the issue by hand? or it only does this when the car is running?
