Clunking while turning when in gear but not when clutch is engaged
I recently purchased a 1996 rx7 fd, a couple days after i noticed a clunking noise i believe coming from the front(could be wrong). It only happens if it is in gear and making a turn but if i am coasting/ pressing the clutch while turning it immediately stops. The car feels like it is going over bumps as it turning while making the noise, this includes reverse. Other than that when driving straight it sounds smooth. From the looks of it it seems like all the suspension parts are solid and don’t feel loose, i replaced all the fluids and it doesn’t look like anything is leaking. Lastly it’s pretty stock

Check the rear pillowballs. Searching that term should bring you tons of info. Also the diff mount bushings.
It could also be an aftermarket rear differential, my 2 way clunks in the same scenarios.

Everything....engine mounts (not always easy to see), drive shaft u-joints...especially the front. Check that the power plant frame bolts are tight with no chance of interference with the drive shaft. The front alignment eccentric bolts tight?
