new kid on the block dizzy trouble
Hello everyone allow me to give you a little bit of history before i ask my question. After five years or searching i finally bought my first rx-7. It is a 85 with the 12a and clearly someone has been trying to get it to run before i acquired it. I have it running but the Tachometer will not. I have a MSD 6A Ignition Control Box and the wires to the dizzy when wiggled got the tach working but no more. the igniter is long gone but last night i directly wired the dizzy wires to my msd wires ( green and purple) and still nothing. My question is what the hell am i missing is the dizzy suppose to ring out with a meter? I am at a loss at this point any help is greatly appreciated.

How do you have the tach wired to the coil?

Time to compare your wiring to that of the factory configuration. Also a good practice to make a schismatic of what you have.
The factory service manual can be found here. http://foxed.ca

Ok so my tach does make up to the secondary coil and i now, and I have it working ........ kinda. its a bit erratic.
My new question is how does one go about fixing the secondary due to failure to ignite. Based on your advice i have it wired up correctly. I had to connect directly from msd to the wiring harness and secondary coil.
All helpful questions are appreciated
