Question Where is it coming from!?

Hey guys, just lately iv been hearing this repetitive clanky sound while im driving. i can't feel it, but when i listen it sounds like its coming from the back. regardless if im in gear or w/ the clutch in, it still make especially when i hit bumps(which isnt hard to do on these local roads). the only time it doesnt do it is when im braking. i lifted the car just the other day, but couldnt replicate the noise when i poked around underneath the car. anyone else had this prob, or maybe an idea of what it coulb be?

well according to what your saying it could be as simple or your rear rotors need turning or new ones cause they could be warped so thats your first order of buisness is to check them otherwise id look at your suspension set up cause when its under load it could make some really weird noises but when your braking weight transfers to the front so it would have no loado n the rear so that would be your next option

if its banging (sounds like a bowling ball in the rear) it could be a broken shock. I have one atm, I can't really feel it unless I hit 2-3 bumps in a row and it get's really loud.

1. does it happen at deceleration/acceleration only?
2. is it Speed specific? 45mph or 60mph?
3. does it only happen when you turn? or just bumps?

1. would be differential mounts
2. would be driveshaft U-joints
3. suspension.

hope it helps
