Ceramic Apex Seals

I was wondering what are your some of your opinions about ceramic apex seals. Are they worth the extra $$$? What are the advantages/disadvantages compared to the factory seals?

^That's not compehensive by any means.
I'm sure there are alot more. Search in the Rotary Performance section, in titles only, with terms like "NRS" and "Ianetti" and I'm sure you'll find alot more to read.

I've never used them before, but since you asked for opinions, I figured it can't hurt to voice mine.

1. yes
2. better at sustained high RPM and easier on housings; perhaps even better sealing.

After reading into this i would say that most people find that for the extra money they are not worth it unless you are a rare case.

One if you plan on running a high boost setup that also runs high rpm, if you are racing (auto x)

people say that they do not wear but the problem is the motor does not normally last long enough for this to be a major effect. the other problem is that although they are stronger if they do blow up they tend to take everything with them... so there is that... but this is just me throwing out a bunch of stuff i read by searching

oh, i'm aware of most of the arguments for and against them. I've been quite interested in them for several years and have been researching them just as long. for me, i concluded that i wouldn't ever use them in a turbocharged engine, but i have no qualms about using them in an N/A engine; and that's precisely what i plan to do.

i also just want to take the time to say (in case it was misunderstood) that i was saying that i think they're worth it, not saying it would be generally recommended - and there is a difference.

no worries, man. nothing wrong with disagreement even if you were. my advice would be keep looking/reading, even beyond this board, if you're interested in the subject. don't be afraid to talk to members who use/have used them both with good and bad results. read between the lines and form your own opinions.

Most of the individuals say that they do not use it but the issue is the engine does not normally last long enough for this to be a significant impact. the other issue is that although they are more powerful if they do strike up hardly, they usually take everything with them...
