Car runs fine, but about an hour later stutters and backfires when the boost kicks in
Hi guys
I have a stock 2000 fd twin turbo
Iv had this issue happen to me second time now and not sure how to go about it
I started my car fine and idles normal
I was driving about half an hour fine and boosting OK nothing that wasn't normal, later about 40mins later
When I accelerate and around the point where the boost just starts picking up I can hear it and see it spooling up around the 3k rpm range after picking up boost for a couple of seconds the car stat's stuttering and back firing and losing power to the point I have to let it drop back to to about 1k rpm and no boost at all to be able to continue driving but it doesn't stall, and this recent time started feeling funny idle was but eventually slowly drived it him,
Any ideas guys?
Cat clogged?
Turbo issue?
Spark plugs issue?
Engine rebuild?
