Ran fine, parked it, runs like crap ten minutes later

I drove the car 25 miles on my lunch break, parked it at my house, went inside. Ten minutes later the car barely idles. So I thought the leading ignitor died. I swapped the ignitors around and no combination works. Is it possible all mine are dead? (I have one extra. I changed L with the extra and then swapped the trailing into leading and still no effect.

Otherwise I guess it feels like a vacuum leak but I don't know where it would come from.

Any ideas?

Timing where it should be? I used to have a problem where the bolt you loosen to adjust timing was loose and the dizzy would tend to rotate towards a retarded ignition position.

If the trailing ignitor was dead, the fuel pump would not run. I would be checking the rest of the ignition system, then move on to the fuel system.

If all ignitors were dead the car would not start. If the trailing ignitor is dead and your car is a 84-85 then it would not start either.

Does it take throttle well, or fall on it's face when you rev it up?

Unless he had bypassed the relay already

Easiest test for trailing ignitor is, is the tach working?

also, since the car was fine one minute and crap the next, i would suspect something askew with the carb or fuel filter clogging. i'm thinking a sticking float. check your spark and verify that you are in fact getting fuel.
