Car oil question?

It's about time I out new oil into the and I'm not sure what type I should use. Anyone know what type I should use. And also I'm wondering why does oil go into the gas tank??? Very curious.

Recommended oil weights are in the FAQ: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...05#post5131205.

If your car has the metering oil pump (MOP) disabled, you will have to pre-mix 2-stroke oil into the gas. A small amount of oil is used to lubricate the seals within the combustion chambers.

Any oil of the appropriate viscosity is fine. If you don't know what that is don't do it yourself.
If you have a working oil metering pump you don't need to add oil with gas. If the previews owner told you to do that he probably removed the omp.
You really should search on these questions in the appropriate section for you car.j

And you know this how?
Most who premix do so at a rate of about 128:1, or about 1 oz. of oil to 1 gallon of gas. And "the more lube the better" ...even 2cycle, is wrong. Too much oil can contribute to carbon build-up which can stick hard seals and increase risk of pre-ignition. It will also plug cats, foul plugs and fail emissions if you have testing.
OMPs are reliable and rarely fail...at least in the FD. And if they malfunction on the stock ECU, it generates a CEL so you know it.
