Car cranks but won't turn over

Hi everyone, just recently bought a vert with a 13b turbo motor. Seller told me he mixed half a quart of oil for every full tank of gas. Idk if that affects the motor or not. He said it was to help the turbo and rotors stay lubricated. But for some reason it cranks but won't turn over. I checked the spark plugs. The 2 plugs on the left have a little bit of oil on the threads. The 2 plugs on the right have a large amount of oil n them. Any ideas?

Premixing 2-stroke oil is for lubrication of the internal seals in absence of the metering oil pump (MOP). In stock form, this isn't necessary. If the pump is gone, it is necessary to prevent premature wear & engine failure.

It's difficult to say why the engine cranks, but doesn't start. Especially if someone turbo swapped the car. There could be any number of problems if the swap was done incorrectly. I would start by getting familiar with the engine, and check the turbo swap thread in my sig. to get an idea if things were done right.

Check for the basics first! See if there is spark getting to the spark plugs rather than the spark plugs it self. Then check if there is fuel pressure or if there is fuel getting to the injectors. After that if everything else fails then you should start looking for low compression.....if the compression it's too low car won't crank.....also if there is a blown apex seal....car sometimes won't start depending on which apex seal it is.

If the compression checks up then start checking for sensors-ecu.

I'm not a rotary expert but I am a mechanic. And this would be the basic diagnostic procedure that I would perform.

I had the same problem for a little bit myself. It would crank and never turn over, and sometimes wouldn't crank at all. Turns out I was just flooding my engine with bad fuel injectors, had to have some work done by the mechanic to fix it since I didn't know how to do it myself. I'd recommend checking that, but I'm a newb myself.

try disconnecting the fuel pump, take the plugs out .turn the motor over ,making sure the wires r no where near the block. it could be flooded and / or coolant leaking into rotor housing.dry out the plugs after turning over the motor, install the plugs and try to start...good luck
