buzzer and no warning lights.
I went out to start my rex this morning and when I put the key in the ignition and turned it to on before starting the engine there was a loud buzzing/alarm. Al the lights came on on my idiot cluster so I know the bulbs are good. When I started the engine the tach was real low but the car sounded to be idleing right. And the buzzer was still going off but no warning light. Anyone else have this?

ok i thought the low oil was the problem but apparently not. still having the issue but the oil and the coolant levels are ok. The tach seems to sputter and jump around but doesn't match up the engine sound. and buzzer WILL NOT STOP!!! If i rev the engine it sounds like it is revving high but the tach doesn't go up much higher than a grand or two. Wiring issue with the trailing coil a possibility? I tried unplugging the wire from the trailing coil to see if the buzzing stopped but it didnt make a difference. Checked the plugs on the back of the gauge cluster and they seemed to be ok.

Just curious..bare with me..it's an easy 2 second thing.
Take the wire going to your low level coolant sender...disconnect it and touch the Wire from the Harness to the body of the car(ground it)..see if the buzzing stops.
Post back up with results.

Didnt help. If I disconnect the wire (the one on the top middle of my radiator) and start the car THEN the warning light for low coolant comes on and the buzzing is louder. Aside from going thought my entire wiring harness (which im not looking forward to). I dont know what else to try.

You possibly can have a problem w/your gauge cluster. The tach, oil level and coolant level should be the only items connected to the buzzer warning system. There should not be voltage on the Brown wire at one of the round connectors behind the cluster (connector ME-02. Also, there should be voltage on the Red/White wire in the other connector behind the cluster (ME-01). And Yellow/Blue from the tach needs to have the correct voltage as well although I can't really remember how the voltage signal changes as the rpm rises from idle. You can try to pass another tach signal to the tach by jumpering a wire between the two bullet connectors found at each of the coils (bullet connectors are short Black wires connected to nothing). At least see if this makes the tach needle move as it should. The tach has the buzzer in case you rev beyond the Red line and perhaps yours is getting a faulty signal or the tach

IF not the Buzzer will go off,as your wire is just hanging there, meaning Open circuit.
What I am wondering is if the Sensor otself is faulty and that can be ruled out by GROUNDING that Harness wire TO the body.

Sigh. It started again. Man this is getting annoying! Still cant seem to figure this damn thing out. If it wasnt for the tach acting funny ild just remove the buzzer. Could a bad solder point on the gauge cluster cause this? I know the horn cpu and idiot lights are prone to cold solder points. Didn't know if anyone else has had to resolder their cluster?
