Morning all, I looked at an 83 rx7 yesterday, for sale as a project. Body was good with no rust, but the only way the car would run was with fuel poured straight down the carb and holding revs up, is the engine knackered or is it just carb problems? I'm very tempted but don't want to end up with something I can't repair!

Without knowing more about the car's history,your guess is about as good as anyone else's.
It sounds like fuel,but then again you can't get it running for a good compression test either,so If you do get it you can rely on the engine being good.
It may not be.
